Remembrance Day National Roll Call

Volunteers Urgently Needed to Read the Roll Call!

Among the activities Delta State University will pursue in observance of Veterans Day this week, our university will honor the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in Iran and Afghanistan with the Remembrance Day National Roll Call.  This nationwide reading of over 6,000 names will conclude in Jobe Auditorium with a reading of the Gettysburg Address and a moment of silence at 9 am.  At 9 am, or 11 am Pacific Standard Time, we will observe a moment of silence with the 181 other participating campuses across the country.  Delta State is the only school in Mississippi participating in this event.

To reach our university’s goal, the team supporting this effort is asking faculty, staff and students to volunteer 30 minutes of their time just once this week in order to read a small portion of our fallen veterans names.
